Solution 1: Rename the .ND and .TLG files

The .ND and .TLG files are important data files also known as the configuration files of QuickBooks. These files are required for QuickBooks to access a company file in a multi-user mode.

Error from 6000 series can occur in case in these files gets corrupted or damaged. However, the error can easily be resolved by just renaming these existing files because when you rename them, a new and fresh .ND and .TLG file gets created automatically.

  • Press the Windows + E keys to open Windows Explorer.
  • Navigate to the folder where your company file is located.
  • In the folder, search for the files with the same file name as your company files but with extensions .ND and .TLG.

Solution 2: Open a sample company file

A sample company file basically is a look alike of your company file. Opening a sample company file will tell you whether the issue is occurring in your company file or the installation of QuickBooks is damaged.

Open QuickBooks and from the No Company Open window, click on Open a Sample File and then choose a template.

If the sample company files opens then it means your company file is damaged and you have to move on to the next solution to resolve the error. Solution 3: Copy the QuickBooks file on the Desktop

Solution 5: Use ADR to restore your backup

When You Are On Server

Solution 1: Check if Hosting is turned on, on all workstation

You must have one PC/Server to host the company files.

  • Open the Product Information window by pressing the F2
  • Check the Local Server Information and the Hosting should be turned off there.
